Friday 1 February 2013
Garry is at home, and wishes Sheryl happy birthday, but she is rather subdued; he apologises, but she says it was too soon. Garry promises he will never do “what he did” again. At the Deri, Angela comes in, worried about Ed, but he says he will be all right, and Gemma takes him for the results. Ffion arrives home, then realises that she has to see Hywel; she demands why he told Rhys about Izzy, calling him selfish and irresponsible. She says that whatever happens to Rhys is his fault, adding that Rhys did not tell the governors “your dirty little secrets.”
When Ed returns, after being given the “all clear”, he tells Angela she is not part of his life any more; he wants to celebrate with Gemma, and start afresh, “without you.” He demands her keys and tells her she does not work at the Deri any longer. When Ffion gets back home, Jinx is convinced he is a bad father, letting Arwen get on his nerves; Ffion says, “Just wait until she is crawling and walking.” She assures him he is the best father possible.
After Arwen is asleep, a message is played on CwmFM, dedicated to Jinx, the “nicest, kindest father.” Ed goes to Dani’s to tell her the good news; she reveals that she loves him, but is devastated by his reaction: he says she misunderstood — he does not want a relationship with anyone. Dani protests that she does not jump into bed with anyone. Meanwhile Angela is telling Debbie that she has lost Ed, her job, home and car.
When Megan and Mark arrive at the Deri after the investiture and show off her OBE (“heavy”, according to Gemma), Ed is giving free drinks all round. Sheryl calls at Dani’s and hears the news that Ed does not want her; wrong place, wrong time; she is really hurt, but says she has been through worse.
When Sheryl has gone, she gets out her cases from under the bed. Garry has a phone call from the hotel; he admits the damage he caused, and agrees to settle the bill in full; “£2,500 is a small price to pay!”
Monday 4 February 2013
Garry is on the phone, confirming with the hotel that the police will not be involved and the matter is settled; he gives Sheryl a wad of notes to buy something for herself, which she initially refuses.
Sioned is going to look for a house, as she tells Gemma she is tired of having Macs around the house all day. Sion is considering getting more involved at the chapel, possibly going into the ministry.
Sheryl confides to Gwyneth that she turned Garry down, and he was upset; Gethin comes in, looking for Dani, and Sheryl says Dani can look after herself. At Penrhewl, Eifion is tired out with the lambing, and Cadno is doing paperwork when Macs arrives and offers his services; he just wants to be out of the house.
Sion bumps into Hywel in the shop and wants to talk about Macs and Rhys, but Hywel hurries off. Iolo asks Sion if he can borrow his car; he has met Josh and wants to go to Swansea, probably taking Macs with him. In the chip shop, Garry tells Britt that Sheryl refused him and that he trashed the room; she tells him he cannot do that every time he does not get his own way.
After Macs has gone, Eifion says he does not want him back – he is useless; Cadno goes out to the lambing shed, leaving him to do the paperwork, but later comes back to find him asleep. As Sioned is telling Gemma she does not want to live in Cwrtmynach, Gethin comes into the Deri, looking for Dani; Ed says that Dani is “nothing” to him, but Gethin almost drags him over the counter, before storming off. Macs and Iolo’s response to Sion’s idea of becoming a minister is that he should not expect them to listen to him preach. Back in the Deri, Sioned has just lost the house she wanted; Gemma assures Ed she is there for him to talk to.
At the nightclub in Swansea, Josh appears; he is a trainee teacher, but Iolo steers his conversation with Macs away from teaching. Sheryl has bought a gift for Wil with Garry’s money, which makes Garry raise his voice; Sheryl senses that all is not well, and tells him to calm down. “Are we all right?” she asks, and he replies, “Perfect.”
Tuesday 5 February 2013
When Jim reminds Angela the rent is due on Friday, she says she has no money, cannot get any hospital shifts and wants to come to “an arrangement”, reminding him of the good times. After she kisses him, he quickly leaves, saying he is with Eileen now. A class of children are at the cafe, doing a study about making the village “greener”.
Britt walks into the garage, where Garry, wearing boxing gloves, is walloping a punchbag. He does not want her telling him what to do, but she is worried, and tells him to get to the cause of his problem, not the symptoms; it is not right, wanting to hit his girlfriend. Later she returns with an “Anger Management” leaflet, and tells him he has “bottled things up” since childhood. He agrees to go to the classes, if she will not tell anyone.
Jim tells Eileen that Angela has no money, so Eileen goes round to his house; Angela hears the door, assuming it is Jim, and loosens her dressing gown. Eileen tells her she will do anything to avoid paying; the deadline is Friday – pay up or get out! Angela replies that she knows better than anyone how to keep him sweet, which makes Eileen very angry. She calls Jim to come immediately and tells him that something has to be done; they go to his house while Angela is out and change the locks, so that when Angela comes back, she cannot get in. As she bangs on the door, bags full of her clothes are thrown from the upstairs window; she calls to Jim, “Make that cow let me in,” but he shouts, “No!” and advises her to find somewhere else to live.
As Dai is hatching a plan to sell his surplus stock as “eco-friendly”, Angela arrives, trying to get Jim to change his mind; he says Courtney can stay, but she is not welcome. Just as Kevin and Debbie are about to leave to go to the cinema in Carmarthen, Angela and her bags arrive, and Debbie says she can stay there, much to Kevin’s annoyance.
Garry rings the number on the leaflet, and wants to start Anger Management classes as soon as possible.
Wednesday 6 February 2013
At Penrhewl, Bobi has a cough and Cadno will take him to the doctor; Eifion tells Macs that the farm does not want to be associated with someone who has been suspended, and does not want him back. Macs tells him to “get stuffed!”
When Macs gets home there is a letter advising him of the tribunal next month, and he is not interested in Sioned’s news that she has found a cottage near Cwrtmynach; she says it is about time she moved out. In the flat above the cafe, things are crowded, and downstairs Kevin and Meic are complaining that Angela is getting under their feet, wondering when she will leave — and of course she hears all this.
Britt cannot keep the secret about Garry’s Anger Management, and tells Sion. Meanwhile Garry is getting increasingly irritated at not being able to contact Sheryl. Back from the doctor’s, Cadno is angry that Eifion has sacked Macs, and wants him reinstated. “Sorry for safeguarding the farm’s reputation,” says Eifion.
However he goes round to Macs’, where Sioned is in her silk dressing-gown, painting her toenails ready for clubbing in Swansea with Gemma; when Macs gets home, she goes upstairs to change, saying, “Can’t go clubbing in the nude.”
However he goes round to Macs’, where Sioned is in her silk dressing-gown, painting her toenails ready for clubbing in Swansea with Gemma; when Macs gets home, she goes upstairs to change, saying, “Can’t go clubbing in the nude.”
Eifion tells Macs he was a bit hasty, but Macs calls it ungrateful, and wants to be treated as innocent until the tribunal. He agrees to be back at the farm at seven in the morning. A little later, Eifion returns, ostensibly to collect his hat (which he was not wearing), but in reality to get another look at the gorgeous Sioned, this time in her red dress; unfortunately for him, Gemma is also there.
When he gets back to the farm, Eifion looks at Cadno, in a somewhat dissatisfied way. Angela admits to Debbie that she tried to seduce Jim into allowing her to stay; Debbie offers her help.

Huw has arrived back at Y Felin, where all the family have gathered for Iolo’s 25th birthday; they ask Huw questions, which he seems reluctant to answer, but then he reveals that he is getting married next week. When everyone laughs, he assures them he is serious, but when they ask to whom, he says he has not met her yet — it has all been arranged. There is a stunned silence around the table.
Thursday 7 February 2013
The arguments at the party continue; the brothers joke at Huw’s expense, calling him crazy and insane, and Sion says that marriage should not be taken lightly. Huw insists he knows what he is doing. Garry is uptight because he thinks Sheryl is deliberately late; when she at last arrives he is clearly unhappy with her and they soon leave. Huw reveals that he met “Peter” in Cardiff, went to stay with him in London and then attended a course in Scotland; he can now see everything clearly and wants to marry into “the family”. Iolo argues that they are a cult, nutters, after his money, but Macs says he is able to make his own decision.
After having a few drinks at home, Sioned and Gemma have more at the Deri, before heading to Swansea; Jinx cannot join them as he is on the 10pm to midnight slot on CwmFM. Sioned is unsure about the Cwrtmynach house.
When Sheryl and Garry arrive home, they argue, Garry demanding that she apologise to Britt, but Sheryl says he sulks when he does not get his own way. He furiously storms off, to be seen a few minutes later hitting the punchbag for all he is worth. Later, he returns to Sheryl, pretending that everything is all right, but she suspects something.
Huw tries to put his point of view; that he has a new family of brothers and sisters who love him; “And force you into marriage!” says Sion. He asks if Huw wants to marry, or if he has been forced into it; Iolo predicts that this “family” will ruin his life.
At the club, the girls hook up with a couple of boys, and after they have been plied with more drinks, they are invited to the boys’ house. Sioned refuses, and reveals to Gemma that she still has feelings for Macs, although they have parted; they were intending to marry and have children, and she does not want a “one night stand,” although she enjoys freedom. Later at home, drinking again, they agree they have had a “brill” night. When Macs and Iolo have gone, Sion and Britt discuss how they can find out information about this “family” and thus deal with Huw’s cult, but he overhears them and demands what is the difference between his faith and his father’s. “This is who I am,” he insists.
Friday 8 February 2013
The children, who are going somewhere for half-term, beg Huw to stay, but he says he cannot; he is being picked up by this “Peter”, getting married on Thursday, then going to a “Faith Centre” in Sydney, Australia. He says the “family” is spreading good news across the world; despite Sion’s arguments, he insists that his faith will grow stronger.
Megan is setting up a steering group for the new Greenest Village project, but Diane thinks she ought to be in charge, as a councillor; “Mrs OBE” is trying to get all the credit; Dai has to tell her it is all a scam to sell more flowerpots. An actor friend of Jim’s will pretend to be the judge. Jim tells Ed in the Deri that he has evicted Angela, as she “tried it on” with him.
Sion goes to the chapel, and meanwhile Britt shows Huw some old photos of him and the family, and seems to be making progress, but when Sion returns, Huw calls him “sad – trying to use her!” and refers to her going on about Brandon - blah, blah, blah! Sion says he is glad Huw’s mother is not alive to see this, but Huw is adamant that “his faith will sustain him.”
When Angela goes to the Deri, Ed tells her he has heard about her trying to sell her body to her ex-husband, and says she cannot love anyone but herself; getting rid of her is the best thing he has ever done.
As Huw is about to leave, Britt says she hopes he and his wife will be happy and have children, then her voice changes to a snarl, as she hopes one of them will do to him what he has done to his father. Saying he has never been happier, off he goes.
Monday 11 February 2013
In the flat above the café, Angela is being sick, then asks Ricky to go downstairs while she gets changed; he packs his bag and goes back to his father’s as the place is so crowded; Kevin would like to go with him. When Debbie tells Kevin that Angela has a broken heart, he is more worried that he will have a broken sofa, and refers to “the YMCA upstairs.” Angela says she has a stomach bug, and Kevin tells her not to breathe on his customers. Diane intends to write a speech, beacause “Mrs OBE” will have one; she only wants to get her picture in the papers. Ffion and Jinx are short of money, but Ffion wants to work only part-time; he confides to Gwyneth that he doesn’t know how they will make ends meet, and she suggests that he sort out some childcare.
Angela’s pregnancy test is positive; she is devastated, and tells Debbie, who has the idea of suggesting that she stays with Mark at Maes y Deri. She also advises talking to Ed, who is the father, but Angela says she will tell him shen she is ready. When Kevin hears that she is going, he shouts, “Hallelujah!”.
Colin overhears that Jinx is looking for a babysitter, and says he has experience; later he tells Megan that he has virtually got the job, and Megan then goes and tells Jinx that she will do it. When Jinx informs Ffion that he has been looking at getting childcare, she replies that it is too soon, and to leave things alone for now
Tuesday 12 February 2013
At the farm Eifion tells Macs that things are strained between him and Cadno; thye are sleeping in separate beds; Macs suggests a birthday surprise. Later he suggests going away somewhere at Easter, and Cadno asks what they will use for money.
When Macs gets home he is disturbed by Sioned (in her pink shorts) and Gemma joking about who they would rather spend the night with — Dai or Colin. When the boy from the nightclub texts Gemma, Sioned remarks, “They’re all the same in bed.”
Jinx interviews Colin for the job, asking what he would do in case of fire; later Megan sails through her interview and gets the job. Debbie suggests a lodger to Mark, and he goes upstairs to see Angela, telling her they could “have a lot of fun together.” She has secured three shifts at the hospital, and will look at the room tomorrow.
Colin learns in the Deri that he did not get the job, but does not know who was successful; later as he and Megan are delivering her publicity leaflets, they meet Jinx, who reveals that Megan won, and Colin storms off angrily.
Eifion goes to see Macs, but only Sioned is there; he pours out his troubles to her over a glass or two of wine; Cadno is never happy, she thinks he is no good, but Sioned assures him he is great with Bobi. Sioned says that she is more shy than he thinks; Eifion takes a picture of her, wearing ridiculous glasses, with his phone, and jokes about sending it to Cadno. As they finish the bottle, he moans that he never even gets a cwtch, so Sioned naïvely offers, they hug, then it develops into a kiss, but she suddenly realises what she is doing and jumps back, apologetically. As Eifion hurriedly leaves, Sioned has a horrified, “what have I done?” look on her face.
Wednesday 13 February 2013
Eifion at home looks at the photo of Sioned, then texts her; when she receives it, she looks worried. Moc is seen, lurking in an alley. When Jinx tells Ffion that he has arranged for Megan to look after Arwen, she is angry, and says no, adding that he sometimes tries her patience; after Ffion goes out, Megan arrives and Jinx leaves Arwen with her. In the café, Sioned and Gemma are talking, when Eifion arrives, and Sioned, rather uncomfortable, makes a quick exit. Jinx tells Hywel that Ffion is considering teaching part-time; Hywel tells Gaynor, and she says she will go round to see Ffion. Meanwhile, Ffion returns, and is shocked to see Megan there; when Jinx returns, she is angry with him; he says that he was only trying to help; he will tell Megan that she is not required, but he will not help with arranging any more childcare.
After the speeches in the Deri, a vote is taken on who will be in charge of the “Green Village” initiative; Megan wins, which does not go down well with Diane. Sioned is in the Deri, and Eifion turns up again, apologising and hoping they can still be friends. When Gaynor visits Ffion, she tells her that she has not made up her mind yet, and objects when Gaynor says she should have been consulted; Ffion later tells Jinx that she may go part-time just to spite her – “Cow!” They agree they must talk more to each other.
Dai wants to cheer up Diane, but the only way is to “shoot Megan Harries!” Back at the farm, Eifion looks again at the photo, with a rather childish grin on his face.
Moc is seen letting himself into his house, where the post has been piling up, and later, Anita receives a text; she hurries out of the Deri and Moc approaches her; “I had to see you,” he says.
Thursday 14 February 2013
Moc is at Anita’s; he has a meeting with the Estate Agent, as he is moving away; there is nothing for him in Cwmderi. Meic returns home, shouts, “Nefi wen!” and bundles him out of the door, calling him the “lowest of the low.” Along the street, Gethin sees him, and turns away. Anita protests, but Meic says she is making a fool of herself – Moc has no conscience. Sheryl tells Garry that Moc is back, but he will not get near Wil; she wants lunch in the Deri, but Garry is busy at the garage. Later Britt takes some chips round to the garage, and Garry says the Anger Management went well.
Moc is packing boxes when he finds a picture of Gethin as a boy; at the same time Gethin is looking at his phone, with “Dad” in the list of numbers. As he leaves the house, Anita asks Meic if he is happy, now he has driven Moc away – he must be “over the moon.” Sion is wondering what he did wrong for Huw to turn out like this, getting married today; he goes to the Deri with Iolo. While there, Josh texts Iolo, and he ups and leaves, borrowing Sion’s car keys.
When Gethin arrives at Moc’s house he is unexpected, and Moc tells him that now he has ruined his life, he is out of there. Gethin says he still wants a dad, and a cwtch, so they hug, and Gethin says we may never get a chance again. Moc closes the curtains and says he can forgive Gethin, and they are very much alike, but Gethin reveals that he can remember every detail of when he found his dad in bed with Claire, his then partner’s sister. He remembers all the moving, from one single mother to another; his father just wanted some new woman, always looking after himself. Moc maintains he only “comforted” Gethin, and begins stroking his forehead, as Gethin remembers his father stole his girlfriend. Then Moc admits, “It only happened once; I’m not one of those monsters.” Gethin jumps up, grabs the framed photo, and hits Moc with it, smashing the glass, and snarls, “I’m nothing like you!”
Iolo is driving in the dark, looking at the message on his phone, when there is a sudden thud; he stops, looks in the mirror and sees someone lying in the road; he drives away. Moc, with blood streaming from his head, runs to the prone figure, shouting, “Gethin!” and phones for an ambulance.
Friday 15 February 2013
Iolo stops; a police car speeds past, and he drives on; when he arrives home he is in a terrible state. When he explains, Sion wants to call the police, but Britt insists they have to keep it quiet. She grabs Sion’s phone, saying Iolo cannot go to jail.
Cadno says she wants to sleep with Eifion tonight, but he says he must go and see Macs; when he gets there, they discuss stock feed, Sioned comes downstairs and tells them Gemma is on another date. When she complains about a loose shelf, Eifion says he will fix it. Moc is at the hospital with Gethin, who is on life support; the police arrive to interview him, as he is the only witness. He later reports to Anita that they questioned him relentlessly, although he had nothing to do with it. Meic comes in and demands, “which part of ‘get out’ don’t you understand?” before Anita tells him what happened to Gethin.
Iolo is sobbing, calling himself a murderer, and wishing it could all be like it was before. Macs goes to bed, and Eifion tells Sioned that she is the nearest thing to family; he tells her that Cadno wants to sleep with him, and Sioned reveals that she is going to an Ann Summers party. However, when he tries to hold her hand, she jumps up; he says she is like a little sister to him, and smirks childishly. After he has fixed the shelf, Cadno rings him to say another lamb is on the way; Sioned is glad when he has gone.
Meic tries to reason with Anita: Moc is covered in blood, and Gethin has had an accident — coincidence? Later Moc tells Anita an edited version of what happened between him and Gethin; including Gethin’s admitting it was all lies; Moc says that he didn’t deserve such a father. When Eifion gets back to the farm, Cadno reveals that the sheep was just a ploy to get him home; she has found a cottage in the Lleyn peninsular, where they can have a break; they go upstairs.
Iolo wants Britt to phone the hospital, but she insists it is too risky; the police could trace the call. When they think he cannot hear, Sion tells Britt he must be made to realise what he has done; he does hear, and goes out, slamming the door. Meanwhile, Gethin remains unconscious, surrounded by life support equipment.
Monday 18 February 2013
Sion is worrying about Iolo making things worse for himself; he will not answer his phone, and Sion tries to put a message on his CnocCnoc page. Britt insists that they have to act as if nothing has happened. When Sion goes to the café, Mark wants Iolo to look at his leaking shower, but Sion says he is “working away.” Ricky cannot understand why Mark is cleaning up the house — “It’s only Courtney’s mum,” he says, but Mark is hoping that she will cook for them. At the hospital, Gwyneth is at Gethin’s bedside; Angela asks Moc to leave the room, and a policeman takes him for further questioning. Sion goes to the hospital, against Britt’s advice, and is horrified at what he sees.
Angela arrives at Mark’s, accompanied by Debbie, and is given an excessive welcome; he insists on taking Angela to the Deri for lunch, when he has mended the leak in the shower. Sion gets home and is mortified that his son has caused such injuries; Britt is only concerned about keeping the damaged car out of sight, and getting Garry to repair it – he will not say anything to the police, but Sion regards it as hiding the evidence. Moc tells Anita that he is a failure as a father, and does not know what to do — Gethin comes first.
When Mark and Angela go into the Deri, Ed hopes they will be happy together, and Debbie almost spills the beans about Angela’s pregnancy. When she says that Mark fancies his chances, Ed says he is welcome to her. Britt again goes on to Sion about letting Garry fix the car, but he says that will makes matters more serious.
Tuesday 19 February 2013
Kevin is tidying up the rubbish in the flat when he finds a pregnancy test kit. He tells Meic that Debbie will be there for a while, and shows him the evidence; Ffion is in the café, with Arwen, who was 15 weeks old yesterday. Sioned has a leaking washing machine, so calls Eifion to have a look; “the Landlord” is in bed with a hangover, so she says. They have some tea and toast, and as he asks where the stopcock is, an anonymous girl comes downstairs, saying (in English) “say goodbye to Macs for me,” and leaves. Sioned says he is entertaining women lately to make a point. Eifion thinks she ought to move out.
Mark went to school at six, and came back to cook Angela breakfast; when he takes Ricky and Courtney to school, Angela cannot face the fried food. Just as Garry has checked the time of his next Anger Management class, Sheryl wants him to keep an eye on Wil at football tomorrow, as Moc is back in the village; he says that he is not available, and Sheryl tells Wil he cannot go. She demands what Garry is going to do about Moc; when she alleges that things would be different if Gwern were the one involved, he responds, “Is that all I am – the bloke who gets his hands dirty to sort out your problems?” Debbie talks to Ed at the Deri, saying he must miss Angela; he replies that he threw her out, and doesn’t care if he never sees her again! “She’s pregnant, and you’re the father!” says Debbie, tactfully. Angela is less than pleased when Debbie tells her what she has done.
Meic asks Kevin what he is going to do about the situation; it is a real mess; Kevin’s head needs seeing to, and other parts of his body, too! The washer fixed, Sioned takes Eifion to the Deri, where he invites her to stay at Penrhewl, but Danishe thinks she can put up with Macs for a couple more months, until she finds a house. Sheryl is still whining to Garry about Moc; he thinks he has done more than enough for her — putting those pictures on the laptop, and having to look at them. When she accuses him of “losing his bottle”, he growls, “Don’t push me!”
Angela goes to see Ed, but he is far from receptive and regards her pregnancy as “very convenient”, telling her that she – and the baby – can “go to hell!”
Wednesday 20 February 2013
Colin is making a cup of tea when Iolo returns, saying he has been camping; Colin tells him about the hit and run, thinking Moc is involved. Iolo comes out of the door; Sion sees him while Dai is trying to sell him “green” stock; Iolo goes back in, but Sion gets in the back way, saying that he must go to the police. Britt orders him to go home, before she does something she will regret; she tells Iolo he must behave normally.
Sheryl wants to talk to Garry, but he has to hurry off; later Britt tells her that he has gone to the Anger Management session, but warns her not to say anything. Meic hopes that the pregnancy test is wrong, and wonders why she has not told Kevin; Debbie fills up the FairTrade coffee tin with cheap coffee; later, Dai complains that his coffee tastes like “sileage water” and the truth comes out. Colin tells Moc to keep his dirty hands off the shop stock; Anita says that Gethin admitted he had lied, but Colin replies that it is easy to say that when he is in a coma.
Britt cooks food for Iolo, who is still distraught; when he goes back to face Sion, Britt says that locking him up will not help Gethin; despite Sion’s insistence that he should confess and get a lawyer, Iolo says he could not face prison — he would rather kill himself.
When Garry gets back home, Sheryl apologises to him, then Anita arrives, saying that it might help Gethin to come round if Sheryl was to visit him, and alleging that Gethin admitted he was lying about the abuse. Sheryl refuses, and Garry tells Anita to go. Sion picks up the phone and dials; while Britt and Iolo look aghast, expecting him to report the matter to the police, he actually asks Garry to repair the car, tomorrow, but admits he hates himself for doing this, to cover up the crime.
Thursday 21 February 2013
A shadowy figure is seen in the school after hours; it is Macs, who surprises Gaynor in her office, demanding to know what is happening and protesting that he did not hit Rhys. She orders him out, and Mark escorts him away. Later, Gaynor asks Mark not to let Hywel know that she had the argument with Macs. In the Deri, Hywel advises Ed not to feel sorry for himself, then Ed tells him of the pregnancy, when Hywel thinks they ought to get back together. Ed goes to see Angela, apologising for what he said, and saying they should put the child first. He tells her she and Courtney could move back to the Deri, but she makes a remark about him and Dani being in the master bedroom. Ed leaves, telling her, “You know where I am.” Dai is jubilant that profits have trebled at APD with the new “green” initiative, and suggests a romantic weekend to Diane.
Sioned and Gemma are off clubbing in Swansea again, and a taxi collects them from the Deri; Eifion is there, and when Macs comes in, Eifion tells him to stop feeling guilty and asks if he fancies clubbing. Mark goes to the shop for ingredients for spaghetti bolognese to serve up to Angela, together with a bottle of wine; he is told that Jim is off on holiday, whereas actually he is hiding upstairs in the flat to get a rest from APD. On reaching home, Mark finds a note from her, “Gone to the Deri,” which he finds disappointing. When Angela arrives there, she asks, “Is Dani still here?” Ed insists they can make it work for the sake of the child, and promises that it is all over with Dani. Her scan is next week, but Ed is off to Tenerife, a treat from “the boys at the steelworks”. They agree that she and Courtney will move back in after Ed returns.
At the nightclub, Sioned and Gemma are comparing the male talent, when Eifion appears, telling Sioned that Macs insisted on following her; then he goes to Macs at the bar and tells him that Sioned is flirting to make him jealous. Macs tells the two boys that the girls are with them, but Sioned threatens to get a bouncer to throw him out; “You can’t bear to see me having a good time,” she says. Macs replies, “Best thing I ever did was to dump you!” which leaves Sioned confused and disappointed.
Friday 22 February 2013
A policeman asks Garry if he has repaired any Mondeos lately; fortunately Sion’s car is hidden under a sheet. Eifion has stayed the night at Macs’ house, under the pretext of protecting Sioned from Macs turning nasty. When Macs gets up he is afraid he made a fool of himself; Sioned accuses him of spoiling her evening and he argues, while the boy Sioned brought home creeps down the stairs and leaves quietly. Macs demands, “What’s your game, bringing a bloke back here?” She replies that he is jealous, but he says it is his house; he is going away for a few days, and when he returns he wants to find the house empty.
When Meic hears Debbie talking on the phone of “cravings” he tells Kevin to talk to her urgently. Kevin skirts round the subject, but Debbie thinks he is suggesting marriage, and when she hears his suspicions, says she is on the pill; the pregnancy test was Angela’s. When Garry tells Britt that the car has been repaired, and informs them of the visit by the police, he learns that Iolo was the driver; he tells them he will sell the car and get Sion a replacement, but they must make sure they keep their mouths shut.
Cadno catches Eifion having breakfast in the café, when she has been running the farm on her own, and orders him home; Jinx, who is bottle-feeding Arwen, says that a baby is a full-time job. Once back at the farm, Eifion tries to phone Sioned, but hangs up when Cadno comes in, demanding that he deals with the cows; Sioned finds the silent call disturbing. Moc again begs Sheryl to visit Gethin in the hospital, once more maintaining that Gethin made everything up, but she refuses, and Garry warns him to leave them alone. While Kevin and Debbie are talking about the misunderstanding, Meic comes into the Deri, and Debbie tells him she is expecting twins, no, triplets, but Kevin tells his father the truth.
Monday 25 February 2013
Diane receives a phone call giving her bad news: Graham, her first husband, has died; she is late getting to APD, and Dai goes on at her, so she says nothing about the death, walks out and goes to Megan’s charity shop, to buy a black handbag for the funeral. Anita is sitting by Gethin’s bedside when Gwyneth arrives and is disparaging about Moc, warning that he will ruin Anita’s life; when Anita gets home Moc suggests the only way to trace Dani is for Anita to check her transactions on the bank computer. Anita initially refuses, arguing that it is illegal, but he eventually persuades her to use his account. As Moc is on his way to Tomos ac Ellis, he meets Sheryl and begs her again to see Gethin; she refuses, and he is accosted by Garry, who was watching from the alley; Garry does not have much more patience, and wants Moc out of Cwmderi by tomorrow. Moc seems to be giving up hope.
When Sheryl visits the bank to pay in the salon cash, Anita is looking up Dani’s account, which reveals cash withdrawals in Blackpool; when she tells Moc, he is determined to go to Blackpool to look for her. In the Deri, Sheryl tells Garry that Moc and Anita both wanted her to see Gethin; Garry says that when he saw Moc it was as if he wanted to be killed; as if he is on death row, with not much time left. At the Deri, Dai sees Iolo getting drunk, and tells him there is plumbing work to be done in Carmarthen, but Iolo tells him to get someone else. The handbag, for which Diane paid £10, is found to contain £50 in cash, but bigmouth Dai tells Megan “finders keepers”, and that it will teach her to be more careful. Megan accuses him of stealing, and Diane asks, “Why can’t you keep your big mouth shut for once in your life?”
As Moc is about to leave for Blackpool, Anita insists she will go with him, and they leave together.

Dai comes home with a bunch of flowers, but Diane is not there; she is getting out of her car at the graveyard. At the shop, Colin and Kevin decide the village needs cheering up, and suggest a good deeds competition for St David’s day — Village Saint. When Sion visits Iolo and mentions conscience and confessing, Iolo tell him that he knows where the door is. After the funeral, Diane sits in the car, and Meic passes on his way back from Anglesey, stopping to see if she is all right. They sit in the car, talking about grief; how she has not seen Graham for years, and the only good thing was their son, Jason, who was not speaking to his father. Meic says that he is still grieving for Anita, although they live in the same house. If he heard that Nansi was dead, he would get out the champagne.
Colin says that Iolo needs to get out of the house and go to the Deri; Iolo tells him to shut up. At the Deri, Kevin asks Meic how Anglesey was, and Meic replies, “Far away.” He also says that £10 is too much to enter the Village Saint contest, although several others are up for it. When Dai gets home again, Diane is there, and after he says he was worried about her, she tells him of Graham’s sudden death. Of course Dai goes overboard about not seeing him for years, and why lose any sleep over that “alky”. Diane storms upstairs, telling him he does not understand, and it shows what sort of man he is.
At the Deri, Sion does not want to judge the competition, but Britt pressures him to do so, to keep up appearances. Iolo arrives and gets a drink; “Drinking again?” remarks Sion. Iolo warns Britt to tell his father to stay away from him — “Mind your own business — Right?”

Iolo, apparently much more in control, rings Dai to apologise and says he will do the job in Carmarthen; outside, he is very hesitant about getting into the van. Sioned receives a red envelope, hand-delivered with the post, containing a card saying, “I want to be with you.” When Colin goes to APD, Dai asks him, as a divorcé, how he would feel if Gaynor died; Colin wants to borrow some loppers, but Dai wants to sell or rent them. Then Sioned comes to borrow a bucket; she starts cleaning the café windows, but Dai slips some “pink finish” into the bucket, and she throws the water over the window, making a mess. Eifion texts Sioned, asking if he can call in; he tells Cadno he was texting Macs. When he arrives at Sioned’s, he sees the card from a “secret admirer”, suggests it might be from Macs, and asks if she has had any strange texts or phone calls, putting the seeds of doubt into her mind. She admits she had a “heavy breathing” call the other day, but tells him to throw the card away; “What kind of idiot would send a card like that?” She adds that Macs is in Manchester and wants her out of the house; she is definite about not wanting to start a relationship. When Eifion gets home, he agrees with Cadno that things have to change, and will stay in with her.
Sion goes to see Iolo, who says he has got himself together, and challenges him to visit Gethin, reckoning that he is too much of a coward. When Colin finds Dai “helping out” in the shop he warns Dai that there can be only one outcome — war! When Iolo goes to the hospital and sees Gethin, he goes to pieces again; Anita advises him to talk to Gethin, but he does not know what to say. Soon afterwards, he is cracking up at home again. Colin tackles Dai at the Deri, accusing him of cheating, and putting the “pink finish” in Sioned’s bucket.
Meanwhile, Sioned has another “silent call” — yes, it’s that devious Eifion again.

Moc and Anita return from a fruitless trip to Blackpool, and Moc thinks this is the end, revealing that Garry wants him out of the village. When they go to the café, Garry sees them and walks out; he reports to Sheryl that “he’s back!” and warning her to let him know if Moc comes near her. Gwyneth tells Anita to “open your eyes.” Sioned receives another card, “I want to be with you,” followed by another silent call. Later she tells Gemma that it is strange, being on her own, and mentions the silent calls. When her phone rings, Gemma answers, and it is (or purports to be) someone from the phone company. Gemma asks if she suspects anyone – Macs? or Eifion? Sioned says she might fancy Eifion if he were younger, and single.
Moc goes to the salon, begging Sheryl to go and see Gethin, as she is his last hope; she again refuses, then he goes to the hospital, and Sheryl arrives, feeling guilty, and talks to Gethin, “Listen, Geth, I know you’re there, somewhere,” but with no response. Meanwhile, Garry cannot find Sheryl and her phone is turned off; as usual, he becomes angry. When she arrives home, he interrogates her, his anger mounting, telling her she should have told him where she was going; she apologises, expecting him to become violent, but he manages to control his feelings until he is down at the garage, where he puts on a CD and attacks the punchbag.
Sioned is walking down the dark street, when she hears a clattering in the alley, which startles and disturbs her; then suddenly Eifion appears and offers to walk her home. She feels embarrassed when she reaches home; Eifion asks if she thinks its the same person who phones her, and assures her that if anything happens, she should just call him. He also mentions that there’s room at Penrhewl, and adds, “You’ll be fine — I’ll make sure of that.”
Moc returns to Anita, tells her what happened at the hospital, and says that Sheryl was his last hope when they could not find Dani. “My son is going to die,” he concludes.
