July 2013

Monday 1 July 2013
Hywel and Jinx are out running when Angela comes back to number 12 and finds her belongings outside and the locks changed.   In the café, Hywel looks on the laptop for accommodation for her, and she reveals she refused to pay rent until the shower and cooker were fixed.   Mark offers her a room in his house, but they contact Iolo about Macs’ empty house, and she decides to move in there, and will negotiate the rent with Sion.
Jim has learned that the filming will take longer than planned, Colin asks what people will say when they hear it is a blue movie ,so he goes home to shout at the film crew.   Sioned is getting on well with the barmaid job, much to Gemma’s disgust, and says the supply teacher business is very quiet this time of year.
As Angela and friends approach Macs’ house, Mark says they need to fumigate it;  Sioned, outside the Deri next door takes exception to this, and is touchy when Gemma suggests she might drop the glasses and hurt someone.   When Jinx arrives at Jim’s house and enquires about the film, Jim says he is sworn to secrecy and sends him away.   Iolo is cleaning up in the house, and Angela thinks it is ideal, even though there is not any internet;  she is not keen, however, on Courtney staying there yet.
In the Deri, Ows is complaining he is not getting as many shifts, and Gemma accuses Ed of preferring “Barbie”.   At the shop Colin tells Eileen he cant believe Jim still thinks it is a porn film;  he also says there is nothing wrong with Sioned being a barmaid, but Eileen is not worried about the job.
Angela pointedly tells Ed that he is now part of her past.   When Jim returns to the shop, Eileen says the film’s name, After Dark, is interesting, and she is looking forward to the premiere;  Jim looks decidedly uncomfortable.

Tuesday 2 July 2013
Megan and Sion are cleaning outside the chapel;  when they go to the Deri, Megan says the small chapels ought to close and merge with Bethania.   Later she talks about this to Meic, who is not interested, and Gaynor, who similarly does not want to know.
Angela visits Kevin, but Debbie says she is not welcome, and she can look after him.   When Kevin walks out, Debbie says she intends to be the boss, and get revenge on Meic for saying she is not good enough.
In the café Hywel and Gaynor are talking to Mark, though Hywel seems to be looking at Angela, having already sorted out her internet.   When Meic takes Kevin to the Deri and Megan pointedly ignores him, he walks out of there too.   Back home, Angela looks at Hywel’s business card which he has left, has a phone call from Courtney to say she will be home late, and conspiratorially dabs wine on her laptop keyboard.   Mark comes over to do some gardening for her, but instead drives her over to Hywel’s, so he can look at the alleged damage to the laptop.
Debbie tells Meic to leave Kevin alone, but Meic is very worried about him.   Angela flirts with Hywel as he looks at the damage , and after she has gone, Gaynor says it is basic not to get drinks near computers.   As she has reports to read, he goes to the Deri, via Angela’s to take the laptop back, with no damage.
When Hywel rings her, Angela is in the Deri, thanking Sion for the accommodation, she says it was Courtney on the phone, and goes home.   When Hywel delivers the machine, she jokes about topless photos being on it, that she does not bite, unless he wants her to, and says if the women’s rugby team were still going, they would have ended up in bed together.   She is surprised when Hywel rejects her advances, saying he is happy with Gaynor;  if things were different, he would love to, but he has too much to lose.
As he makes a hasty exit from the front door, Mark comes out of the pub next door, and remarks, “Up to your old tricks again?”

Wednesday 3 July 2013
Jim is eating at Eileen’s when he is visited by Dai to talk about the future of the bank;  Colin talks about a shop selling “kinky” products, and calls Jim “Cwmderi’s porn king.”
Cadno finds Bobi on the floor, playing with a syringe, and panics that he might have caught the sheep disease, Orf;  as the ambulance takes so long, they rush him to hospital for tests.
At the café, Megan is asking people to support Bethania;  Debbie volunteers Kevin to do football with the children, and Meic says she ought to ask Kevin first.   He says he will give it a go, and the café could sponsor the kit.
Regarding Megan as “playing dirty”, Hywel announces on CwmFM that Bethania wants the other chapels to close;  he wants Horeb to stay open, although he never goes there.   Colin hears the broadcast and suggests to Jim and Dai that APD could convert the chapels to flats.
Gwyneth says that a couple of the film crew want tattoos, and the “Blue Movie” story gets repeated in front of Megan.   Sion goes to talk to Marian, but she is not in favour of closing chapels.
At the meeting about the bank, Megan takes charge after having been asked to do so by Moc.   Suggestions include affordable flats and businesses to attract customers, but Megan wants to go to Moc’s original idea of “Menter Cwmderi”, a village co-operative, and she says that after thinking about it they will have another meeting.   Then Hywel comes in, demanding, “Which God gave you the right to close Horeb?”   When Megan mentions Hywel’s and Gaynor’s marital problems, he reminds her that she was unfaithful to Reg.
Cadno and Eifion return with Bobi, who has suffered no ill-effects.   Eifion tells Sion they are having a difficult time, and when he has gone, Eifion tries to get Cadno to forgive him, again to no avail.   She tells him, “Bobi needs a father he can trust,” and in answer to Eifion’s protestation that he has been punished enough, says, “You’re not moving back in;  you decided life with Bobi and me was not exciting enough — now you have to live with that!”   This angers Eifion, and he accuses her of just wanting someone to slave their guts out.   “Two can play stupid games like that!   If you’re in trouble, don’t expect any help from me!”

Thursday 4 July 2013
As the Deri customers leave, Sioned says she heard about the battle of the Meganites versus the Hywelites;  Angela comes to collect pictures from Courtney’s old room and remarks that Ed and Sioned look cosy.   Cadno wants some sheep brought in for the shearers tomorrow, but Eifion says he is off to the Deri.   Mark and Colin see Jim come out of his house with a wad of cash, and Mark looks in to see what is happening.   At the Deri, Eifion is reminded of his stupidity by Sioned’s presence;  she tells him he should have moved into the spare room, and that he must stand up to Cadno.
At the shop, Mark reports to Eileen that Jim is scared stiff, and at that moment he comes in;  Eileen makes him a cup of tea upstairs, and he blurts out that he needs to confess that he has been tricked into his house being used for a dirty film.   “You deserve better than a fool like me,” and, ashamed, he hurries off to the Deri, while Eileen and Colin again laugh about it.
At the farm, Angela tells Eifion that Cadno will take a while to forgive him, and he says he has had enough of being treated like a farmhand.   Jim is angry with himself at the pub, and is afraid of losing Eileen, when Sioned cuts herself;  Jim, as a first-aider, takes charge, dons latex gloves and takes her upstairs to treat her.   He tells her that she needs her mother, but she insists she is all right.   When Ed comes to check, she asks if he regrets employing her, but he says she is a good worker, looks into her eyes and kisses her, then apologises.   Sioned says things are complicated, and he reveals his six-month check shows he is clear of the cancer.   He says that it helps to talk openly about such things, and Sioned almost tells him the truth, but then kisses him and leaves, saying she will be in tomorrow
The shearers will arrive at seven and require some sheep to be kept in overnight, but Eifion insists he has finished for the day and is having tomorrow off.   If he is a farmhand, he wants pay — Cadno’s days of taking advantage are over.   Later he tells her that a hundred sheep are inside, before he goes to the pub.
At the Deri, Eileen offers to help him with the shearing, then she draws Jim aside;  he tries, haltingly, to explain about the money and the film, but she reveals that she has enjoyed the joke, and that Colin was in on it.   It is a children’s film — Jim is absolutely shattered.

Friday 5 July 2013
As they come out of the bank, Colin suggests to Sion that it should be turned into a bunkhouse, to provide cheap accommodation for visitors;  Sion thinks this a good idea.   Then Megan arrives, telling them that she has invited the other chapels to the summer fair, so they can see the superior provisions at Bethania;  when she goes, Mark says she will be telling them what colour pants to wear next.
At the café Debbie has heard that the A&E department may be closing, which makes Ffion think;  later at Penrhewl she and Cadno think they need first aid training, and Jinx tells them of the First Responders at Llanarthur.
Hywel and Gaynor are at Horeb, where Hywel’s father is one of five brothers buried there;  Gaynor says he is becoming very religious.   Iolo arrives and Hywel asks for a quote to renew the chapel heating system;  Iolo says somewhere around £15,000.   Iolo tells Sion and Megan that Hywel is “changing Horeb into a five star chapel.”   Megan maintains it is a waste of money on that old building, and ominously predicts, “The Lord works in mysterious ways – they’ll be in Bethania by the end of the year.”
Ffion researches First Responders, and tells Jinx they can be on the scene in minutes to reassure and stabilise the patient;  he assures her of his support, and that of CwmFM.  Hywel and Gaynor are returning when they meet Megan, who says it is a waste of money, when another chapel welcomes them.   Angrily, Hywel likens her to a dog with a bone, but she seems to think she is “reasonable”, although Sion says she will make some enemies.   Meic is reminiscing about Kevin’s childhood with Colin, and mentions that Debbie has been “a rock” to him.
At Angela’s housewarming party, Ffion raises the subject of First Responders, and Angela is in favour, whereas Colin says he would not mind the kiss of life from Cadno or Ffion.   Angela starts flirting again with Hywel, mentioning being “a naughty girl”, and he repeats that he is happy with Gaynor, but agrees there is nothing to stop them being friends . . . very good friends.

Monday 8 July 2013
Jim drives into the village and is greeted by Mark’s jokes;  Eileen calls to him, but he ignores her and goes into APD.   In the shop, Eileen thinks she overdid it, then Ed comes in and asks Sioned to work in the Deri again – “You’re a lifesaver,” he says, but Eileen reminds her she is scheduled to have a blood test;  Sioned says she can do that another day.
At APD, Colin continues to poke fun at Jim, and when he says that Jim made a fool of himself, he is faced with Jim, brandishing a pair of shears;  “If I hear one more word about that film, I’ll chop it off!” he threatens.   Colin does tell him it was all Eileen’s idea in the first place.
Ed welcomes Sioned to the Deri, and wants her to help him taste some beer samples that have been delivered.   Sion is trying to avoid Megan, afraid that she will use the fair as a platform for her views.   Britt tells him to “man up” and show her who’s boss.
Eileen goes to APD to try and mend things, but Mark comes in, talking about heavy-duty cleaner for Jim’s dirty mind.   When she shows him tickets for the summer fair, Jim says he cannot go to this fair or any other, as he is the laughing-stock of the village.
When Eileen calls at the Deri, Sioned tells her how well she is getting on with Ed, but nothing can come of it, “Now that Macs has put this thing in my blood;”  her mother tells her to be open and honest with Ed.
When Sion goes to the chapel, Megan wants to organise everything, but he says that his priority is to broaden the appeal of Bethania.   When he gets home, he suggests a youth club, with football and other pursuits.   Britt points out there is not as much money coming in, and Sion then thinks of a Sunday School day out.
At the Deri, Jim and Eileen start off not speaking, then she calls him a childish idiot, and that it was meant as innocent fun.   He says he has always been hopeless at taking a joke, and as a peace offering, reveals a surprise trip to London to see a show.   As they leave, he asks, “Your place, or the Playboy Mansion?”
Ed and Sioned go upstairs to test that beer, and after several bottles, Ed is drunk, but Sioned has been thinking, and knows she has to tell him the truth;  she finds it hard, but explains that she has been given HepB by Macs, then turns towards him, and finds him fast asleep;  he has not heard any of it.

Tuesday 9 July 2013
In the café, Megan is selling summer fair tickets, and Cadno asks Angela if she can lead the first aid classes, but Angela is too busy.   Kevin storms off upstairs as Megan is ignoring him, and he argues with Debbie, then he goes outside;  at Meic’s he says that he is guilty and belongs in prison, and does not know why Debbie has not reported him.
Jinx is trying to find a venue for the first aid classes, but the village hall and the school are not available, but then he thinks of the chapel, and Megan is delighted with the idea.   Then Debbie appears and rebukes Megan for not inviting her and Kevin to the fair.
Hywel visits Angela on the pretext of checking her laptop, and persuades her to lead the first aid – of course, he will be there.   Meic tells Colin that he has messed up with Debbie again by not keeping his mouth shut, and Colin advises to try harder.   Meic goes back to the café, apologises to Debbie, saying she is a good wife, and if she can forgive Kevin, so can he:  he even offers to pay for the flights to Las Vegas for a break.   After initially refusing, saying his father wants him to go away to save embarrassment, Kevin eventually agrees, and it is not long before Debbie, having booked the holiday, goes to Angela’s, crowing about it;  they are going on Saturday, and she says she can twist Meic round her little finger.   Everything is falling into place the way she wanted.
Jinx returns home, after running 5 miles in 46 minutes, and insists on cooking the meal and then bathing Arwen;  Ffion worries that he is doing too much.
Megan comes to the café to apologise to Kevin for her unChristian attitude, and blames Sheryl for making false accusations, revealing that Debbie made her see sense.

Wednesday 10 July 2013
Sioned phones for her blood test results and tells Eileen that they have not deteriorated;  she says that she spent the last two nights at Ed’s, but did not share his bed.   Now that she has had her result, she will tell him today.
Megan borrows some plates from the Deri and remarks how she is looking forward to Sion’s speech;  Sioned tells Ed that the White family are not at the top of her list of favourite people.   She then reveals to him her HepB, and where she contracted it, but Ed responds angrily that she was “just playing with him”, and is not happy about her serving food and drink to his customers.   She is not honest, and he cannot trust her;  he tells her to leave.
The Summer Fair begins, with Megan praising Sion as the chapel leader, then they sing “Calon Lan”;  later, while the children are singing “Iesu Tirion”, Sioned walks disconsolately past, pauses, and then goes into Bethania.   Sion’s speech begins — he says he hopes he can do the job justice;  religious services are not the only concern;  it is not an exclusive club, but a positive force for the whole village.

Sioned begins to interrupt his speech, and Eileen thinks she is drunk, but she loudly points out that she is not allowed to drink.   She asks if she is embarrassing Sion’s respectable family, and described him as Saint Sion, but one of his flock is missing – the black sheep, his own prodigal son.   Sion says that she is upset, but Sioned continues, “Macs has done more than upset me, and you accused me of infecting him.   His son poisoned me – it is in my bloodstream, eating its way through my body.   The son of your dear leader ran away and left me to suffer.   They check my blood each week;  I can’t sleep;  I don’t know when my liver will pack up.   It’s all your son’s fault!”   She walks out, followed by Eileen.
At the Deri, Ed tells Ows he never thought he would see the day when there were more in Bethania than the Deri.   Angela comes in and tells him what happened at the chapel;  he blames himself, but she says he was justified, and wonders what other secrets Sioned is keeping from him.   Megan sympathises with Sion, saying parents are not responsible for the actions of their children.   At home Sion tells Chester that the outing is to Soar-y-Mynydd on the River Camddwr, but is simply asked if there are any rides there.   Sion says that people will point the finger, but it is Sioned who is really suffering.   Sioned blames Eileen for telling her to be honest with Ed;  now no-one wants to know her.

Thursday 11 July 2013
Sioned hesitates in the shop doorway, then strides down the street;  Gaynor does not speak to her, and Gemma hopes she has not passed “your dirty little disease” on to Ed.   Sioned walks into the Deri and starts work, but Ed says he does not want her there;  “It’s not the HepB — you deceived me and I can’t trust you.”   As she protests that she was trying to be honest, Gemma comes in and says she is not fit to work there.
Later, she argues with Eifion, and Ed asks her to go.   After Sioned has left, Ed reminds Gemma how she felt after the truth came out about the stabbing, and says Sioned needs sympathy.   Jinx is making batches of baby food for Arwen with the liquidiser, then goes for a run.   When he returns, Ffion says he is overdoing things and needs a break;  she sends a text to Hywel – “SOS - take Jinx out tonight.”
At the farm, Cadno talks to Angela about how everyone is talking about her and Eifion, and will get more depressed when the baby arrives;  Angela will organise an evening out for her.   Hywel arrives at Jinx’s, wanting to talk business over a pint;  Ffion thanks him, saying Jinx is obsessed with his health.   When the two arrive at the Deri, they joke about Eifion being off the lead, then Eifion is disappointed to see Cadno and Angela come in (Megan is babysitting).
Gaynor goes to see Sioned, apologises for ignoring her, and says she understands some of what Sioned is going through;  she also wants some supply teachers for next term, but Sioned is not interested.   She says the virus is punishment for the way she treated her dad and is still treating her mam, and how she behaved towards Ricky and Izzy years ago;  these things catch up with us.   Gaynor tells Eileen what she has said, and Eileen is worried about her.
At the Deri, Angela asks if Cadno really wants Eifion living in the shed;  she replies that he can stay there until the winter.   Ed is short-staffed and asks Jinx to take over behind the bar, while he pops out.   Meanwhile, Angela is flirting with Hywel again, and Eifion mentions the Sunday School outing to Cadno, then goes home to relieve Megan.   Ed stands in the street and sees Sioned in the upstairs window;  he goes in and apologises, saying he was over-reacting, but Sioned retorts that it is too late, so he reluctantly turns and leaves.   After a few steps he hesitates, and she is watching from the door, but then he continues back to the Deri.

Friday 12 July 2013
Angela has borrowed a dummy from the hospital for first aid training;  Ed is trying to get Jinx to work some more shifts at the Deri, as he was so efficient.   Jinx says the money would be very handy.   In the café, Colin tells Kevin he would not be any good at the first aid session, with his hand.   Hywel is the first arrival at the chapel, followed by Gwyneth, Mark, Cadno, Jim and Colin.
Gaynor goes to visit Ffion, who is very busy and worried about Jinx being obsessed with his health;  last night she sent him to the pub for a break, and he got a job as barman.   He is not even Arwen’s father, but he will risk his life for her — and Ffion says she can do nothing;  she does not know what she would do if she lost both of them.   Gaynor assures her that things will be easier at school, when she gets a replacement for Macs.
Angela lectures the masses, then discovers the dummy has been removed;  shortly afterwards, Colin looks around the door of the Deri, deserted except for Gwynfor, brings the dummy in and sits it at a table.   The first aiders are in pairs, practising CPR on each other.   Debbie is busy packing for their holiday, and suggests to Kevin that when they return they should talk about her getting a share in the café business – after all, married couples are supposed to share everything.
The class is over and they all repair to the Deri;  Colin calls Angela over to the table where “someone looks ill.”   She is unimpressed to find the dummy, and Colin tells her it was Hywel’s idea;  she turns to speak to him, but finds him kissing Gaynor, and is somewhat disappointed.   Cadno tells Hywel that they should have a defibrillator in the village.
At home, Ffion tells Arwen that they have six weeks of holiday to look forward to, and she is lucky to have dad, who is “better than your real father!”   Debbie is keen to get off on this holiday, and when Kevin mentions they might win a fortune in Las Vegas, she has a scheming look – her aim is to make a fortune out of him.

Monday 15 July 2013
Sheryl and Gwyneth are opening the salon when Sion accosts them about the outing;  when they have escaped inside Sheryl says she prefers candy-floss and chips, and remarks that she is happier now Garry has gone.   Moc comes out of the bank, and receives a call from Anita;  he says he wants to see her about something important.
Sioned is depressed and not eating;  Eileen wants her to see the doctor, but she refuses to take those tablets again.   When Sion reaches the shop, Jim tells him he could not have thought up a more miserable trip if he tried.   Sioned comes down and Sion tells her how sorry he is, but she insists she should not have behaved like that;  she was angry with Macs and took it out on Sion.   He says if he knew where Macs was, he would drag him back to face his responsibilities;  Jim wants to throw him out, but Sioned stops him.
Sheryl gets back to the flat, and finds Garry there;  she is angry that he left her to sort things out, but he says he was so angry about what had happened to her.   Cwmderi is the problem, and they should move away;  he has found a lovely cottage in Pembrokeshire, near the sea, that they could run as a B&B.
Anita hears from Moc that he has agreed to buy the lease on the bank and will lease it to Menter Cwmderi, but he does not have enough capital;  he says that Anita wanted a secure investment for her money, and after some persuasion, assuring her of a good income for them both, gets her agreement.   Of course the lease will be in joint names;  Moc looks at the photographs of Wil.   Sion speaks to Jinx, who tells him, “Get real!   No wonder people think chapel is boring!   The only way to get more names is dodgems and seaside.”
Sioned admits to feeling a bit depressed, after the way she treated Eileen last time, but insists she will be all right.   Garry paints a rosy picture of the cottage, but Sheryl says this is his answer every time – to run away.   She admits that there is not much for her and Wil in Cwmderi, and Garry says Kevin and this village are suffocating them, before presenting her with the wedding ring again.   The register office has a slot in a few weeks, and he has booked a holiday in Canada for the three of them, so Wil can visit his dad, and it could be their honeymoon.   He will leave the decision to Sheryl.   As Sion is managing to get some takers for the alternative destination of Barry Island, Sheryl rushes into Gwyneth’s, and tells her that Garry is back, and what he said.   Gwyneth is adamant that he is not taking Gwern, and warns her that he is trying to control her life, but Sheryl is tempted by the prospect.

Tuesday 16 July 2013
In the shop, Colin asks Garry where he has been, and is told to mind his own business;  when Megan comes in she is surprised Colin served him, after what he did to Kevin, but Garry emphasises that it was an accident, and she is spreading malicious gossip.   Moc gives Diane a G&T in the Deri and presents his file on Menter Cwmderi, encouraging her investment, but she is very wary of the minimum amount, £10,000, calling it, “too risky.”
When Garry gets home, Britt says she will not let him near a barbecue, after what he did to Kevin;  however, he is sure that Kevin will stick to the story.   He tells Britt he has come back to marry Sheryl, but she is reluctant, so Britt urges him to give her time;  he tells her about the cottage, which has great potential.
Colin and Iolo are talking about Moc, saying what a good bloke he is, but Gethin is not so sure;  he is certain that Moc spent so much time at his bedside when he was in a coma so he could find out how much Gethin remembered when he woke.   He is convinced he knew something about Moc, but cannot remember what.   Angela confirms that Moc was at the hospital often.
Garry goes to see Gwyneth, and says they can organise a proper schedule for Gwern, with him staying with Gwyn most of the time, and leaves a Swansea shirt for him.   Later, when Sheryl speaks to Gwyneth, she says it is a gamble, but Gwyn thinks it could work, a new start with a new husband.
Britt warns Sheryl that Garry is a complex character, always putting himself first, and says she does not want his heart broken;  she also says that Sheryl can continue as a hairdresser – people in Pembrokeshire have hair, too.
Moc phones Anita and suggests that it would be a good idea to have Wil over, while Garry and Sheryl sort things out.   When Sheryl gets home, she tells Garry she has been thinking, and the answer is “Yes!”   He grabs the ring and puts it on her finger,  saying this is the happiest day of his life, then she hurries to the Deri for some champagne.
Outside she takes off the ring, then goes in, as Megan is trying to organise the first aid classes, maintaining they ought to look to the council, with Diane’s influence, to fund some equipment.
When Sheryl leaves and replaces the ring, she encounters Moc, who congratulates her, and offers to have Wil over, any time.   Sheryl and Garry announce to Wil that they have something to celebrate – they are getting married, and he looks excited about it.

Wednesday 17 July 2013
Wil is on his way home from school and meets Anita, telling her about his full marks in a geography test;  Sheryl comes out of the salon, and he asks if he can go to Mam-gu’s, as Moc is away on a course.
Sioned is feeling ill, and has been in her pyjamas for two days;  later she learns it is simply a bug.   When she is feeling better, Eileen suggests that she could find Gaynor a replacement for Macs, and Sioned demands, “Why does everything revolve around him?   He’s gone, but I still can’t get rid of him!”
Gethin is depressed, and after he goes out, Colin says he is like Jekyll and Hyde —  they could have a party to cheer him up, but Iolo calls it “another of your stupid ideas.”
At the Deri, Jinx is anxiously waiting for the end of his shift, so he can go home to see Arwen;  he tells Hywel that he hardly ever sees Ffion, with his two jobs, and in the end tells Ed that he is resigning.   His place is at home with Ffion and Arwen.
Iolo invites several people to the party, but in the end, none of them turn up.   Anita serves up cottage pie to Wil, but he is unimpressed, after showing her a magic trick he has been practising, he says he wishes he could make the cottage pie disappear.   After watching part of a film, Moc returns unexpectedly, and says that they can look at his travel books tomorrow.   When Wil has gone to bed, Anita tells him that he is so good with the boy, and Wil adores him;  they open a bottle of wine
Colin, ridiculously dressed, suggests they play charades, but Iolo objects to this, and they end up playing “Truth or Dare”.   Suddenly the merriment is shattered when Gethin announces, “Dad did abuse me – it’s true!”   Colin admonishes him for starting that nonsense again, says he is not right in the head and asks when he is going to stop.   Gethin answers, “I’ll stop when the truth comes out!   He’s dangerous — and Wil is next!”

Thursday 18 July 2013
Wil is being bullied, with his phone being taken, when Moc steps in and rescues him, taking him back to the salon, and then home;  Sheryl is very grateful, but Gethin and Dani see Moc with his arm round Wil and ruffling his hair.
Dai, the auctioneer at the Slave Auction in the Deri, is not feeling well.   Cadno has packed a bag for the hospital already, and she and Eifion are going to the auction.
Gethin is sick at home, and then he goes to the salon and warns Sheryl of what he has seen;  he tells her that Moc is waiting to pounce, that he is cunning and is trying to gain Wil’s trust, and he begs Sheryl not to let Wil out of her sight.   Outside, he continues that Dad is grooming him and will take advantage;  Dani comes over, and Moc overhears what is said.
In the café, Garry says he is worth at least £100, and points out that they need first aid equipment after Kevin’s “accident”;  Mark says that is how he sorts people out.   At the auction, Dai finds his name on the list;  Hywel is the first lot, won by Angela, for £70.  Garry is planning what they will do in Canada;  Sheryl is unsettled by what Gethin said, but Garry calms her fears, although she wonders if there is truth in it.   Mark is the next, and Cadno bids £40, hoping he can make a sponge for Marian;  then Dai gets pains, and collapses, with Angela ministering to him.
Dani is hanging out washing when Gethin arrives;  he told her that this would happen, and that all the happy families is simply a front – he is a paedophile.   He was never interested in Dani, but it started with running his fingers through Gethin’s hair.   It was innocent at first, but his plan is to make Wil and Sheryl trust him;  Wil is innocent, and Gethin cannot allow Moc to ruin his life.
“Will you help me?” he pleads, and Dani tearfully nods her head.

Friday 19 July 2013
When Colin wonders what Moc will do now the bank is closing, Gethin says, “Go away, I hope!”   Iolo says he is preoccupied with his dad, and Gethin wonders why no-one will believe him;  he likens his situation to when Iolo realised he was gay, and was afraid of what people would say behind his back.   He has revealed his innermost secret, and is now being kicked because of it.
When Mark arrives to be Marion’s “slave” she is waltzing with Angela;  later he is washing her feet, then cutting her toenails.   Diane is having her hair done at the salon, and reveals that Dai suffered simply a dizzy spell, before Gethin bursts in, demanding a word with Sheryl;  he says that Dani and Iolo believe him, but Sheryl calls his allegations, “nonsense,” and despite his warning that Wil is in danger, makes him leave, “and don’t come back!”   Iolo sees him, and drags him straight home.
When Kevin phones Meic from America, Colin expects that Debbie will be drunk all the time, as Kevin is paying.   The bank closes for the last time, and Moc and Anwen are heading for the Deri;  Moc invites Diane to join them.   When he orders a bottle of champagne, he asks Sheryl if she is having second thought about getting married, and wants to help.   Diane admires Sheryl’s ring, and hears that they plan a quiet wedding.   When Iolo and Gethin come into the Deri, Gethin does not stay long after seeing his father there, but Iolo stays, pretending to be friendly with Moc.
Outside, when Meic mentions Kevin and Debbie going to the Grand Canyon, Colin thinks she will want to push him over.   Meic regrets being so hard on Debbie, and Mark remarks that she is “big-hearted”, to which Colin retorts that it is a pity she has such a big mouth.
Later, Marian wants one last task done by Mark – she wants to dance with him, and calls him, “Bob,” which startles Cadno, who is watching.   Angela later assures her there is nothing to worry about.   Moc gets Diane in private and again encourages her to lend him money for Menter Cwmderi, alleging that there are several people queueing up to invest, including Megan, but Diane will not commit herself yet.
At home, Gethin accuses Iolo of drinking with his dad, but Iolo says that Moc must not “smell a rat”;  they must not let him abuse Wil or anyone else.   He tells Gethin that they do it his way, or not at all;  “We will stop him and get justice.   No-one should suffer what you suffered!”

Monday 22 July 2013
Sheryl is busy at home, and Garry tells her they will soon be enjoying the leisure of being by the sea, running their B&B, which will be busy at Christmas.   He is working on selling the flat, and has the estate agent putting “For Sale” signs on the garage.   When Moc and Anita pass, he tells them that now he and Sheryl are getting married, there is nothing to keep them in Cwmderi;  they will have a new start and a new home.   Sheryl goes to the salon, and sees Debbie and Kevin arrive back from America;  soon Anita arrives and objects to Sheryl taking Wil away.
She accuses Sheryl of being selfish and always thinking of herself;  Moc says she should be supportive, but enquires what is happening to the salon, and says that they should spend some time with Wil, as he is soon going away.   When Anita has gone, Moc hangs around the salon, telling her that she is lucky, having a successful man, but she replies that Wil is her main concern.   An estate agent comes to measure up the salon, but she sends him packing, telling Moc that she is afraid to leave Cwmderi.   He tells her she must break free.
Meic welcomes the newly-weds home, and later, in the café, Garry comes in and says that Kevin has taken a gamble, marrying Debbie, but he has hit the jackpot with Sheryl, and is looking forward to moving away, so he is not reminded of what Kevin did to his wife.
Gethin calls Dani to his house;  she tells him that Moc was at the salon, and is trying to get close to Wil.   Gethin fears that no-one will realise how dangerous Moc is until it is too late;  they must make sure they are one step ahead of him.   Meic’s advice to Anita is that she cannot stop Wil going to Pembrokeshire.
Garry is again winding up Kevin, and Debbie tells him that everyone knows what he did, and she cannot wait to see the back of him.   Kevin is depressed that he did not have enough guts to throw Garry out, so Debbie suggests going to the Deri.
While Garry is in the salon, telling Sheryl that they must get everything organised quickly, Dani comes in, enquiring whether she still has a job, and Garry says this is the “kick up the backside” that she needs.   When he tells Sheryl that she is too soft on Dani, she walks out and goes to the pub.   Debbie, drinking in the Deri, tells Moc that the village needs a casino, then Moc gets champagne to celebrate Sheryl’s and Garry’s wedding;  Gethin accepts a glass, then leaves, whispering to Sheryl, “Be careful!”   Garry tells her that for all their sakes, they must go;  she looks at Moc, then Kevin, then Gethin, and says, “Take me away from here!”   They all watch her leave.

Tuesday 23 July 2013
Dai reports on the condition of the bank building – the guttering and windows need attention;  Moc sees Garry and Wil heading for the salon.   In the café, Sion finds there is more interest in Thursday’s outing, now it is to Barry, but Ricky says holidays are boring enough without that.
Anita is in the shop, buying wine for her evening with Diane, and checks if Moc is still able to babysit;  he goes to the salon, and gives Wil a packet of sweets, but Dani takes Wil off to watch The Simpsons.
At the café, Mark is concerned about Debbie, but she says he is moaning;  they argue and she storms upstairs, followed by Angela.   Debbie tells her she is going to play the dutiful wife a little longer, but is worried about losing Ricky.   Kevin goes round to Mark’s and assures him that Debbie and Ricky mean a lot to him;  Mark warns him not to hurt them like he did Sheryl.   Ricky has been eavesdropping, and says he will spend time with both his parents;  he cautions Kevin against doing anything to his Mam.   When he tells his mother that Kevin, “Really likes you,” she looks uncomfortable.
Anita’s and Diane’s quiet drink in the Deri is disturbed by Colin with a list of things to be discussed at the next meeting, and Dai joins in, ranting about the village needing jobs, not an old people’s club, and Moc only doing this for his bank balance.   Then Diane lets slip that she is thinking of investing in Moc’s scheme, which angers Anita, who goes home early.
Garry and Sheryl go to Britt’s, who is enraged when she finds that Garry is selling the chip shop;  surprisingly, Sion does not take her side, saying she should be glad that her brother is happy.   “What would Brandon say?” she shouts.   Moc goes to collect Wil, and Sheryl reveals she is still unsure about the move;  he tells her, “You think too much.   Just follow your heart.”
At Moc’s, Wil is stirring the saucepan and splashes tomato over his top and Moc’s shirt;  he has just returned in his pyjamas when Anita gets back, so Moc has some explaining to do.   Anita raises the matter of Diane’s investment, thinking that the scheme was their retirement plan;  he again tries to argue his way out of the matter, saying that Diane would be a “sleeping partner”.   Meanwhile Dani suspects that Wil is alone with Moc, finds Gethin in the Deri, and rings Anita’s phone, as they are eating their spaghetti, only to learn that she is home with Moc.
Wil asks Anita, “Will you and Uncle Moc come and see me in Pembrokeshire?”
Moc ominously replies, “You’ll see a lot of us, I promise you that.”

Wednesday 24 July 2013
Gaynor is at home and suggests to Hywel a holiday in Greece, which he is not keen on, and says he has a lot to do with CwmFM.
Garry tells Sheryl that next week they may be able to make an offer for Nant-y-Beri, but Sheryl says she cannot kick Britt out of the shop;  Garry assures her that he will deal with Britt and with all the finances.   When she gets to the salon, Meic comes over, revealing that he still feels guilty about what happened to her, and begs her not to leave the village, but she says she is not running away, she is getting married.   Then she finds the estate agent outside, wanting to show someone the salon, but she tells them, “Not today!”   Debbie is watching, and tells Angela that Meic might buy the salon – then she could own that, as well as the café and taxis.   “I won’t stop until I’ve got everything — that’s what I deserve!”
Moc advises Sheryl how much she is likely to get for the business, but she is not listening;  she wonders, “Am I doing this for the wrong reasons?   Perhaps I’m not meant to be happy.”   When Moc asks what she really wants, she says, “For Wil to be happy.”
Moc says that moving is not always breaking away;  he has moved many times, and he assures Sheryl that she is strong enough to face the future alone.   When Garry returns home, he tells Moc, “Thank you for your help  you can go now.”   As he leaves, he makes a comment about Wil.
Hywel is at Angela’s again, under the pretence of the laptop, and tells her he is not popular with Gaynor, because he does not fancy wandering round Greek ruins.   “You’re welcome here,” she simpers.   Meanwhile Debbie is trying to convince Kevin that Meic ought to retire.
Gaynor is in the Deri, celebrating the first day of the holidays, flirting with Ed and rapidly getting drunk;  after boasting of her exploits at university in Aberystwyth, and denigrating Colin, Hywel comes in, with Angela, and is unimpressed at her state.   He accuses Ed of “enjoying yourself — with my wife!”   Garry tells Sheryl that she has made him the happiest man in the world, and brings her meal;  she receives a text – from Moc, saying, “I’m here for you.”

Thursday 25 July 2013
It’s the day of the Sunday School trip and Siôn is determined to have a good day.   Wil takes Sheryl a coffee, but she says she feels ill, and that they can go to Barry another day, but he wants to go with all the other children, so he borrows her mobile and phones Uncle Moc, who of course is delighted to go with him.   The Bedford OB is parked outside Bethania as all the passengers arrive, and five minutes late Moc and Wil arrive;  Dani sees the pair of them board, and sit in the front seat, so she rushes to Gethin with the news.   Meanwhile, Sioned sees everyone leave for Barry, closes the shop and heads for Y Felin (for which she has a key) to look for evidence of Macs’ whereabouts;  Jim tries to stop her, but eventually goes with her.

When the coach arrives at Barry, Sion reminds everyone to be back on time, then Eifion and Marian, seated just behind the door, have to be woken up.   While the rest of the children go on to the beach, Wil and Moc go for a walk.   Gethin insists that he has to follow to Barry, and Iolo takes him in the van;  when they arrive, they go in search of Moc.   Sion in his deckchair remarks how the sea air clears the mind, while Mark and the children are running down into the water.
Sioned’s search does not even reveal a note to say Macs is safe, and despite Jim’s protests, she searches upstairs too.   Finally, he puts it straight:  “If you carry on like this, you’ll end up in prison again!   When are you going to stop this nonsense?   We are all worried about you;  we’re trying to help you, but you can’t break into people’s homes!”   Stunned by his outburst, she leaves quietly with him.
When Gethin and Iolo find Moc, he is playing with Wil with the rugby ball;  Wil stumbles into a hole in the sand, and Moc massages his leg.   He is very surprised to hear Gethin say, “Leave him alone — we’re taking him home!”   Moc tries to object, but when Siôn passes, he agrees that Will should go home to his mother.   When they get him home, Moc has already rung Sheryl to put his side of the story, and Iolo says he is cleverer that they had thought.   Gethin says, “It’s one big game — but he won’t get away this time!”
Marian has gone missing at Barry, but Gwyneth finds her on the dodgems, and Marian calls Eifion, “Bob,” again, and says it must be milking time;  Cadno is worried about her.   The beach is almost empty when Siôn calls to Moc, standing looking out to sea, to rejoin the coach party;  he turns, reluctantly, and walks up the beach.

Friday 26 July 2013
Dani rushes to Gethin, having been told by Iolo what happened at Barry, and he tells her, “I was Wil, 25 years ago!”   He recalls what happened the night of the accident, how Moc admitted what had happened, and actually apologised, with the excuse that he loved Gethin “too much”.   Now he feels as if a fog has lifted;  if he had died after the accident, his dad would have been safe.
Siôn and Britt realise that someone has been in their house, and are about to call the police, when they hear the buzz of a mobile phone;  Eileen is trying to contact Sioned, and the phone has been left on Siôn’s desk.   Siôn thinks he is owed an explanation;  Eileen confronts Sioned and Jim, informing them that Siôn is on the way over.

Gethin continues to recall that he tried to put the past behind him, and to be successful to make his father proud;  as a result he has messed up every relationship, because his idea of love is different to everyone else’s.   Siôn is angry with Sioned, and reiterates that he has no idea where Macs is, and knows what a bad father he has been;  he takes her key and leaves.   Eileen rages at the pair of them;  when she realises that Jim was involved, she will not listen to any explanations, but orders him out, which amazes Sioned.
Moc is in the Deri, still working on Diane to invest in his scheme;  at first she seems reluctant, but eventually agrees, with the provision that she has exactly the same rights as him and Anita, the same terms and conditions.   She presents him with these conditions in writing, which temporarily deflates him.   Cadno is worrying about Marian, and seems to be warming to Eifion;  as they have lunch they talk, and later, as they have a glass of wine, Cadno snuggles up beside him, and asks him to stay.   He says he had better go, as he does not want to spoil things, when they have started to improve.
When Dani tells Gethin he will have to go to the police, he says they will never believe him;  there is only one answer — “Dad has got to be out of my life, where he can’t come back — he doesn’t deserve to live!”   Dani realises that he is serious, and when she sees Moc coming out of the Deri with Diane, smug about the deal, Dani rushes up and tells him, “Pack your bags and get out of Cwmderi, before it’s too late!”   He simply stands and looks up at the flat above the chip shop, thinking of Sheryl.

Monday 29 July 2013
Sheryl is looking for Wil’s passport, but Garry tells her she should be dealing with the flowers and reception, telling her that he cannot wait for her to be Mrs Monk.   When he has gone, she goes to the salon, and after an angry exchange with Dani, who does not want to lose her job, walks to Moc’s house.   She tells him she needs to run away, but then changes her mind and says it is too late;  he says she needs to talk to someone about it, and then tries to plan things with her, but she leaves.
Immediately, he rings an airline, quotes “Mr Morgan Thomas”, the reference ZAH149, single ticket to Boston, and asks to add two more passengers (all this in English).
Apparently, Dai was auctioned to Gemma for a day, but conveniently she does not show up for their meeting in the café;  instead, Diane wants him to wallpaper a room at their home, and he protests he will never do that in a day.   Taking no notice of him, Diane goes off shopping with Anita.
Gethin tells Dani that getting rid of his father has been on his mind all weekend;  he cannot do it on his own, but needs the help of someone he can trust.   Dani is horrified at the thought of killing Moc, and says there has to be another way.   Later, when she sees Moc in the street, she warns him that Gethin is planning to kill him.   Moc replies, “I’m not afraid of Gethin!”   As she insists that he should move away, Gethin approaches, and she tells him Moc was worried about her reaction to the salon closing.
Dai is not papering, but looking online;  when Diane returns he is asleep, and then responds to her anger by suggesting they could move to a larger house, but she sees that he is trying to get his hands on her money.   She tells him he can sleep in the spare room.   Moc and Anita are in the Deri, when he announces they are going away to the Gower for a couple of days.
Garry replaces the missing passport in the box, which Sheryl has already searched, and when she comes home, he “looks for it” there, and of course finds it;  Sheryl is rather bemused.   Later, as Moc and Anita are kissing on the sofa, the doorbell rings;  Sheryl tells Moc she wants his help, as she cannot get married to Garry – she does not trust him.   He hid the passport and is trying to control her, and she pleads, “I have to get away from here, I have to leave tomorrow, before the wedding day.”

Tuesday 30 July 2013
Sheryl is sitting in a daze when Britt arrives to help with last-minute arrangements;  she persuades Sheryl to go shopping for a new dress.   While Sheryl changes, Britt goes to the salon to tell them the Hen Night will be that afternoon;  Dani says she will not be there as she has no job, but Britt insists that her job in the chip shop will be safe.
Then Garry gives Britt £200, telling her to “get something tidy”, but Sheryl overhears.   As they leave, Sheryl wants them to be apart tonight, as is the tradition.   In the café Anita tells Diane that she and Moc are going to the Gower, then Moc has a phone call from Sheryl;  he tells Anita that it was from the bank, about a redundancy course in London, starting tomorrow.   He cannot get his money back for the Gower hotel, so why does she not take Diane there, to avoid wasting the money.
Back at Britt’s from the shops, Sheryl tries on the short, white dress, and Britt says it is a present from her;  she has never seen Garry so happy, and Sheryl has managed to change him into a different man.   When she gets home, she tells Garry that Meic will be picking up Wil, and then leaves for the Deri;  two people are actually waiting at the bus stop!   When Anita tells Diane what has happened, she cannot accept quickly enough;  they are soon entering the hotel and sipping cocktails, which appear to have quite a kick.   Meanwhile, at his house, Moc struggles downstairs with a large case, and finds Anita’s headscarf, and throws it into a black sack.
In the Deri, Britt and Gwyneth are joined by Ffion and then Sheryl;  Gwyneth asks what is wrong, as she can see Sheryl’s mind is elsewhere.   Sheryl lies that she can’t wait to get married.   Despite drinking only orange juice, Ffion livens things up by remarking that, apart from Britt, they have all “been with” Garry.
When Sheryl tries to leave, Ffion advises, “Don’t get married with a hangover!   I did with Owen, and look what happened there!”   Kevin has just come into the Deri, and he follows Sheryl as she leaves;  he warns her that marrying Garry Monk is a mistake, but she hurries back to the flat, and breathes a sigh of relief once she is inside.

Wednesday 31 July 2013
Sheryl phones Moc, not sure if she can do this, but he tells her that Garry Monk is dangerous, and does she want a life of fear for Wil?   He will bring his car to the back of the salon in an hour.   Meic has been looking after Wil, and before he goes, tells Sheryl that it is not too late, but Sheryl tells him that she is leaving Cwmderi.
Meanwhile, Garry wants to go back to Sheryl, but Britt stops him;  he tells her that if he had learned to control his temper earlier, he could have had two or three children by now.   He phones, but Sheryl ignores the call, urging Wil to pack what he needs, as they are going away tonight.   He cannot believe that they are leaving Garry the night before the wedding.
At the Gower, Diane is getting increasingly drunk again, and speaking of fancying Eifion;  hardly able to stand, she goes to the bar and helps herself to two bottles.
Moc goes to Gethin’s and says he has heard that Gethin wants to kill him;  “How can someone like you kill someone like me?” he taunts.   Pulling a length of rope from his pocket, he tells Gethin that he is very disappointed, as he only had to keep one little secret.   Gethin falls to the floor, and Moc continues, “Why keep your mouth shut for twelve years?   Did you enjoy it? then kicks him.   He says that Gethin tried to get between him and Sheryl, and make his life hell — another kick — “Now you’re going out what hell is!”   He turns up the radio, and continues to beat Gethin;  “Nothing you or anyone else can do will stop me getting what I want!”
Gethin moans, “Wil!”
Moc throws the crutches into a cupboard, says goodbye and leaves.   Gethin, battered and bruised, tries to crawl across the floor, but the pain of his broken ribs stops him.
Dani arrives at Sheryl’s flat, and Sheryl asks her to look after the salon;  she is not selling it, nor is she getting married;  she and Wil are going away tonight, and she asks Dani to keep it secret.   When Dani has gone, Garry phones again, and she sees him across the street, looking up at her window;  he tells her he loves her, and will see her tomorrow, just as Moc walks innocently past him.
Wil asks, “Are we leaving Garry forever?” but Sheryl simply takes off her ring, and hurries him out of the back entrance to where Moc’s car is waiting;  he adjusts the car’s interior mirror, so as to see Wil.   Sheryl urges him to drive, and as the car speeds off, Dani sees them and realises what has happened.
